Combination of Force and String Lasting

Force lasting and string lasting are relatively cheap in production and they do not need a complicated machinery. Both are used for sports shoes . To achieve a best quality in production of a running shoe, the combination of both can be used. One of the combinations is to use string lasting at the toe and force lasting at the waist. According SATRA Bulletin (1994) by using this combination a tighter waist is achieved. Pleas look at the sections on force lasting and string lasting.

For attaching sole onto a upper, a direct injection moulded and a vulcanised bottoming methods are used.
