Expertise

Photography

Photography

I have been a practicing medical and scientific photographer for over 35 years. Alongside that I have supported hundreds of students to learn how to become photographers from forensic and medical all the way through to commercial and sport photography.

I have always enjoyed passing on my knowledge and enthusiasm for photography as well as my passion for anatomy and osteology. The aim of this site is to create a platform for me to share my knowledge and expertise in photography.

E-learning development

E-learning development

I have been involved in e-learning development when it was creating audiovisual materials. I developed my first website for final year student shows in 1995 and put module handbooks online in 1996. Since then I have developed a wide range of materials using Moodle and BlackBoard and most recently been heavily using Easygenerator.

I always aim to be creative using new techniques for example; using badges to support learning aboutn osteology and an OpenJournal system to support research skills for Master's students for submitting papers and udnertaking peer review.

Writing

Writing

I have become more involved in writing as an co-editor in two books, papers for research and learning & CPD, websites for example showing the work of my Great Aunt Dorrie Nossiter who was an Arts and Crafts jewellery designer, see http://www.dorrienossiter.co.uk.

I also have a number of current writing projects including; A practical guide to scientific photography, osteological photography otherwise known as the Photography of Bones,  collating photographs and text about the Anglo-Saxon skeletons from Little Chester, Derby from my and students' work over the past 4 years.
